FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • The program kicks off Friday afternoon on June 21st. The program continues on Saturday morning at the Chicago Teachers Union Center (1901 W Carroll Ave, Chicago, IL 60612) and ends there Sunday afternoon on June 23rd.

  • We will provide lunch on Saturday and Sunday and other meals are on your own. If you have any dietary restrictions please let us know during registration.

  • We just launched the Take Back Tech Solidarity Fund for folks who want to join but need financial support. Click here for more information and to apply.

  • Mijente and Media Justice are committed to making sure the convening is accessible to members of the community. Some things to be aware of the space are:

    • Wheelchair accessible

    • Spanish to english interpretation for all plenaries and some selected workshops

    • Family restroom and Lactation room

  • We expect attendees to wear a mask over their mouth and nose while indoors at sessions at the conference.

    We have participants attending the convening that are immunocompromised. Please be considerate and mask up as you’re able to.

SOLIDARITY FUND!

Do you need financial support attending Take Back Tech? Make sure you apply to the Solidarity Fund instead of purchasing a ticket. We are committed to creating a space that is reflective of the diversity in our communities. That’s why we are officially launching a Solidarity Fund for folks who want to join us in Chicago but need support with travel, lodging and registration. Limited funds will be allocated as applications come in, so don’t wait!
